SCHOOL CLOSINGS OR DELAYED OPENINGS
It is our intention to hold class whenever possible, but our first concern must always be for the safety of our teachers and students. WE DO NOT FOLLOW MCPS REGARDING DECISION ABOUT DELAYED OPENINGS OR CLOSINGS. SSLC will make independent decisions based on weather, local road conditions and parking lot conditions.
DO NOT RELY ON INFORMATION REGARDING MCPS DELAYS OR CLOSINGS, AS WE MAY NOT MAKE THE SAME DECISION.
Note to families with children at the Leo Bernstein Jewish Academy: SSLC and LBJA make independent decisions regarding delays, closing, and early dismissals.

Subsequent Days of Inclement Weather
We will make our own decision for subsequent days. We may or may not make the same decision as MCPS, depending on local road and parking lot conditions.

How to Get Information
- Sign up for Text Message program -- we will send a text to enrolled phones advising of delays/closings/early closures
- Listen to WTOP Radio (1500 AM) or check their website at www.wtopnews.com. We are listed under "Other".
- Watch WRC-TV (NBC, Channel 4) or check their website at www.nbc4.com for information
- Call the SSLC office, and press "19" once the message starts. This will connect you to the Inclement Weather Mailbox .**When the inclement weather message starts, make sure it names the current date. You may call before we have a chance to post a new message.**
- We will send an email to the emails we have on file.
